Khurasan 15mm TWY miniatures

At Christmas my son bought me some 15mm Khurasan Thirty Years War minis. I finally got around to painting them and I am quite satisfied with the results (despite my limited painting skills). Five Generals, three of which depict the "Three Sons of Gluttonia"; Hanz, Granz and Clauz. The balance of the minis are sword and buckler figures to provide Melee Companies to back up my existing Thirty Years War figures, five bases in all. But on to the minis!

the Three Princes; Hanz, Franz and Clauz
very nice figures with loads of character and detail

they are joined by the other two generals
(who at this point are unnamed)

another group shot

forty-eight minis broken down into five stands of melee troops

the San Patricos Battalion

the depth of the sculpting makes these a breeze to paint

the Iron Battalion of Mathias Gunderson

the crisp detail made using dry-brushing on the metal area very effective

the (now homeless) Nantuan City Guard

these minis are on the large side of 15mm,
not the now (ever enlarging, up to 20mm) 18mm figures, but big lads all the same

the Saint Lawrence Battalion
(Saint Lawrence is the patron Saint of Cooks)

their flag (still to be painted)  is a stew-pot surrounded by golden bowls

the  Arnulf of Oudenburg Battalion
(Arnulf is the Patron Saint of distillers)

to no-one's surprise this unit was raised in the Highlands of Boozonia
they will carry a suitably inspiring flag

a quick glance at the back of the San Patricos to highlight the fine detail
and how easy it is to get a good result with a thin black wash over a basic paint job

Khurasan Miniatures makes some excellent, and eminently affordable, miniatures that cover a very wide range of armies and periods. If you are building armies in 15mm you could do far worse than spending some time checking their website out. Highly Recommended!
