A Test for the Master General of Advanced Workes

Having been appointed to the rank of Master General of Advanced Workes Sir Juan Cassiavertes gathered his troops and began his task.  As well as attempting to select the best location fort the forts Sir Juan Cassiavertes kept a constant eye on the capital to see if the enemy was going to react to his placing a noose around their supply-line. Eventually it happened and the Small Platers, having realized what he was up to, sent out a force to arrest his efforts.

Proper Meal Faction choose any troops up to 24 points They may trade 1 point of troops for 8" of gabions taking the form of a portion of a small fort. They must also have one unit of clubmen (representing unarmed workers) for every 8" of gabions in place on the table. They deploy using the map below. One half of all troops points must be off table to the west and will test to enter via the two roads that exit the western edge once the Small Platers have entered the table.

north is to the top, the capital is to the right, the supporting base camp is to the left

Small Plater Faction  choose up to 18 points of troops. These may enter via the eastern edge of the table on the first turn, by the southern road near the village on the second turn, or the two western side-roads on the third turn. Your mission is to kill/drive off the workmen and the defending forces. It takes a successful "Shoot" order for a unit to set fire to the gabions (if any are present) and building supplies, the unit must be in contact with the items to attempt this.

this is what the final build-out on the terrain looked like
fairly close; but maps were a bit dodgy 300 years ago
I really should build the terrain first, then draw the map
